Actor’s Express will continue its 36th season with Mercury by Emmy nominee and American playwright, Steve Yockey.
Actor's Express will conclude its 35th anniversary season with the winner of the 2021 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, cullud wattah, a play about strength and survival in a family of women.
With the announcement of the 35th season, Actor's Express is excited to announce new artistic staff changes as well as the introduction of four new board members. Amanda Washington becomes the new Associate Artistic Director. Washington initially joined the AE staff in 2020 as the National New Play Network Producer in Residence and recently directed the AE production of Sunset Baby by Dominique Morisseau.
Actor's Express closes its 34th season with a production of Sunset Baby, a crackling play from MacArthur Genius Grant recipient Dominique Morisseau, one of the most acclaimed playwrights in America today.
Actor's Express announces its 34th Season of dynamic, entertaining work, including a World Premiere and co-production with Oglethorpe University Theatre. After a year of virtual programming, including streaming and a podcast, Actor's Express returns to in-person performances with an eight-show in-person season.
